'South Park,' 'Reno 911!' among shows sold

PARIS -- MTV Networks International closed a slew of deals for comedy genre titles during the five-day MIPCOM market that wrapped Friday in Cannes, the company said Monday.

Emmy-winning animated series "South Park" is set to air on cable network NRJ12 in France. The Comedy Central show will launch in the fall in the territory. Season 13 of "South Park" has been snagged by Canal Plus in Poland, and the complete series of the show will also air on MNet's Vuzo channel in South Africa later in the year.

Stephen Colbert will continue his world tour after a recent stop to entertain the troops with deals for "The Colbert Report" in the Middle East on Showtime and on CPI in the Philippines. CPI also will air Comedy Central's "The Daily Show With Jon Stewart." Germany's Timm will air "Strangers With Candy" and "Reno 911!" Portugese Fox also picked up "Reno 911!" and "Chappelle's Show."
