BERLIN -- German multihyphenate Til Schweiger will receive a Bambi
award, one of Germany's top media honors, for his hit romantic
comedy "Rabbit Without Ears."
"Rabbit," which Schweiger wrote, directed and starred in, was the No. 1 film in Germany this year, earning more than 40 million euros ($50 million) for Warner Bros. Germany. The musical "Mamma Mia!" was a distant second with $32 million for Universal. The Bambis, presented by publishing giant Hurbert Burda, are the German industry's gold standard.
