NEW DELHI -- The 40th International Film Festival of India will be
held November 23 - December 3, featuring 200 films from about 50
countries with a continent focus on Africa and Latin America while
the country focus will be on Italy, France, Poland, Croatia and
Estonia.
The “Film India Worldwide” section will feature films made by Indians abroad (or non-resident Indians). Retrospectives in the foreign films category will include directors Gurinder Chadha (U.K.), Manoel de Oliveira (Portugal) and Nonzee Nimibutr (Thailand). While a detailed programming lineup and jury details are yet to be announced, the Indian Panorama section will include titles such as India's Oscar entry this year, Marathi-language film “Harischandrachi Factory” and recent acclaimed Hindi releases such as “DevD” and “Kaminey." IFFI is organized by autonomous body Entertainment Society of Goa in association with India's Information and Broadcasting Ministry and the Directorate of Film Festivals.
