TORONTO -- In the wake of the Beijing Olympic Games, the Banff World Television Festival on Oct. 10 added a new best sports programming category to its annual international TV awards competition.

TV sports programming from international broadcasters that aired in the last year will vie for a first-time "Rockies" award.

The 30th annual Banff World Television Festival is set to run from June 7 to 10 in the Canadian Rockies.
