TORONTO -- Jill Hennessy, Peter Stormare and Aaron Poole will topline the indie Canadian feature "Small Town Murder Scenes" by director Ed Gass-Donnelly.

The film, from 3 Legged Dog Films and Resolute Films and Entertainment, stars Stormare ("Fargo," "Prison Break") as an aging police officer who hides a violent past, Hennessy as his ex-wife and Poole as his partner on the beat.

The aging cop's newly reformed life unravels when he is thrust into a murder investigation in an Ontario Mennonite town and discovers that the prime suspect is his ex-wife's new beau, played by Stephen McIntyre.

The crime thriller, the follow-up to Gass-Donnelly's debut feature, "This Beautiful City," is to shoot in and around Listowel, Ontario.

Kinosmith will release the film in Canada.
