CANNES -- Morena Films and Telecinco Cinema have their follow-up to In Competition title "Che," entering a co-production pact with Vaca Films on Daniel Monzon's high-energy "Cell 211."

Frances' La Fabrique 2 also is co-producing, with Galicia's regional Xunta government and broadcaster and AXN are also backing the project.

The $5.4 million production stars Luis Tosar as the leader of a prison riot, with Alberto Ammann playing a young prison guard trapped in the revolt, who tries to pass a prisoner to survive on the inside.

Based on F.P. Gandull's novel of the same name, "Cell" -- which begins a nine-week shoot Aug. 25 in Spain -- follows up on Monzon's three previous features "The Kovak Box," "The Warrior's Heart" and "The Biggest Robbery Never Told."
