ROME -- Forest Whitaker, who won the best actor Oscar last year for "The Last King of Scotland," will in December become the latest citizen of Capri, organizers of the Capri-Hollywood Film Festival said Tuesday.

Whitaker will be honored with the Peace Award at the 13th Capri Fest, which is set to run Dec. 27-Jan. 2.

The unlikely citizenship -- an honorary title bestowed by the picturesque island off the coast of Naples -- comes with the award.

The festival said it also will host the world premiere of Tim Story's "Hurricane Season," which stars Whitaker as a high school basketball coach in the wake of Hurricane Katrina.
