SYDNEY -- Kiwi production company Screentime NZ and U.K. TV distributor and producer Power are making the move into feature films, announcing a star studded cast for their new NZ-UK co-production, “Ice.”

The climate change thriller, based on the book by James Follett and directed by Nick Copus, who recently made Power miniseries “Day of The Triffids," will star Richard Roxburgh as environmental scientist Professor Thom Archer and Frances O’Connor.

Joining them are Claire Forlani, Ben Cross, Simon Callow and Patrick Bergin, with Stephen Moyer and Sam Neill.

Set in 2020, “Ice” tells the story of a massive Greenland glacier collapse, caused by energy giant the Halo Corporation, despite warnings from Archer. Astonishing weather patterns emerge and plunge the world’s temperatures into steep decline.

Production is underway on the film in New Zealand. It is being produced by Screentime’s Ric Pellizeri and executive produced by Power’s Justin Bodle, Ewa Radwanska and Philly De Lacey. Director of photography is Richard Bluck.
