Organized by the Mumbai Academy of Moving Image (MAMI), the Mumbai Film Festival aims to present the cream of the crop in five categories: International Competition for the First Feature Films of Directors, World Cinema, Indian Showcase, Mumbai Dimensions, and Retrospectives.

Screenwriter and director Paul Schrader and Iranian filmmaker Jafar Panahi are jurors for the International Competition of First Feature Film of Directors category.

Lifetime Achievement Awards will be given to Indian actor-producer Shashi Kapoor and Greek director Theo Angelopoulos.
