Pamela Levine

31. Pamela Levine

Co-president of domestic theatrical marketing, 20th Century Fox

When early polls for 2006's "The Devil Wears Prada" suggested that some audiences thought it might be a horror film, Levine sprang into action. Those kinds of dilemmas have taught her to "throw out the playbook" and start fresh with each of the up to 20 films she markets each year (in 2008 those included "27 Dresses," "Jumper" and the upcoming Jennifer Aniston-Owen Wilson comedy "Marley & Me"). The Boston native supplements traditional outlets with online and interactive strategies, asking all the while, "What emotional experience do we want the audience to have?" She works on her own emotions with long walks and yoga, and tries to avoid anxiety attacks on opening weekend. Fox has had a disappointing year, but things are looking up with "Night at the Museum 2," "Wolverine" and "Avatar," among others, slated for 2009 release.
