Teri Weinberg

44. Teri Weinberg

Executive vp, NBC Entertainment

Weinberg has a nose for hit television. In her five-plus years working in development at Reveille Prods., her master instincts helped breed successes like Showtime's "The Tudors," ABC's "Ugly Betty" and NBC's "The Office," whose fifth season premiere pulled in 9.3 million viewers. Now working for the Peacock in what she calls "a day-to-day partnership with my extended family," Weinberg oversees showrunner, advertising and development for programs like "Kath & Kim," whose premiere on Oct. 9 attracted an audience of 7.5 million. Next year she has new show "The Philanthropist," which is the first partnership with NBC's international studio. Equipped with a degree in interior design, she uses her sharp visualization skills to analyze scripts, but also hopes to one day apply her design expertise to her newish home. "I've been in my house for three years now, and the joke is, I haven't had five minutes to work on it," she says. That may be because she's working hard, but as she notes, that's a job requirement: "As a woman in this business, you've got to have steel in your spine."
