March 19, 2004
Jared Padalecki is prepping to check into the "House of Wax" for helmer Jaume Collet-Serra.
The film, a Dark Castle Entertainment project, starts shooting in May in Australia for Warner Bros. Pictures and Village Roadshow Pictures. Padalecki, fresh from filming a role in "Flight of the Phoenix" for 20th Century Fox, will join Elisha Cuthbert, Chad Michael Murray and Paris Hilton in the remake of the 1953 classic horror film starring Vincent Price and directed by Andre De Toth.
Padalecki is in negotiations to play the love interest of Cuthbert's character.
Joel Silver, Robert Zemeckis and Susan Levin are producing, with Herb Gains, Steve Richards and Bruce Berman serving as executive producers. At the studio, Polly Cohen is overseeing along with Kristin Lowe.
Padelecki is repped by UTA, Evolution's Dan Spilo and attorney Michael Fuller. The young actor has been on a work binge lately, filming back-to-back parts in "Cry Wolf" for helmer Jeff Wadlow, "New York Minute" opposite the Olsen twins for Warners and the "Phoenix" remake for Fox, helmer John Moore and producer John Davis. He's also known for his work on the WB Network's "Gilmore Girls."
