Uni rumbles with 'Earthquakes'

Universal Pictures has optioned the film rights to author Jennifer Weiner's latest novel, the upcoming "Little Earthquakes." Weiner has penned the best sellers "Good in Bed" and "In Her Shoes." The latter is shooting with Cameron Diaz starring and Curtis Hanson directing for Fox 2000 Pictures. "Earthquakes," which is scheduled to hit bookstores in September, revolves around three pregnant women who become friends in a yoga class and subsequently help each other through childbirth and motherhood. The project is being produced by Michael Shamberg and Stacey Sher's shingle, Double Feature Films. Holly Bario is the Universal creative executive overseeing the project. Weiner is repped by Benderspink. Benderspink's president of production is Jake Weiner, the author's brother.
