Chenoweth magic

Tony winner Kristin Chenoweth has a way with witches. The actress-singer, who stars in the hit Broadway show "Wicked," is in negotiations to play opposite Nicole Kidman in Columbia Pictures' feature film adaptation of the popular TV series "Bewitched." Chenoweth will play Kidman's nosey next-door neighbor Marie in the production, which co-stars Shirley MacLaine, Michael Caine and Will Ferrell. Kidman stars as the witch who remedies her marital problems through magic. Chenoweth is nominated for a Tony for her performance as Glinda, the good witch of the north, in "Wicked." The production walked away with six prizes at Sunday's Drama Desk Awards and leads the pack in this year's Tony race with 10 nominations. Fast becoming a big-screen player, Chenoweth is making her feature film debut in "The Pink Panther." In the MGM feature, Chenoweth plays the hot French public relations executive for a soccer team that gets caught up in the diamond investigation. Making the most of her talents as a classically trained singer, Chenoweth recently signed up for the movie musical "Asphalt Beach," which Peter Spears will direct. Chenoweth, who won a featured actress in a musical Tony for "You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown" in 1999, is repped by CAA and managed by Handprint Entertainment.
