Lindsay Lohan is in negotiations to topline "Fashionistas" for Christine Peters' CFP Prods. and Paramount Pictures.

Writers Stan Zimmerman and James Berg have come on board to adapt Lynn Messina's debut novel of the same name, on which the feature is based.

The book is set in the world of a glossy magazine where young fashion designer Vig, the role that Lohan would play, leads the charge to seek revenge on her demanding female editor. Her plan backfires, leaving her to juggle being a lowly assistant by day and the secret "It" designer and toast of New York by night -- all while falling in love with New York's hottest bachelor.

Said Peters: "I really feel this is a great book and that it will translate onto the big screen. I very much believe in this demographic and quadrant to target a specific moviegoing audience. I am very excited that we have such great talent responding to our projects and (about) the prospect of working with this team." Peters will produce.

The project is one of several films in the works at CFP, which was launched as an offshoot of Robert Evans Prods., where Peters was president. With a focus on romantic comedies and the under-25 demographic, the new shingle is reteaming with Lynda Obst on a feature film of "How to Tell He's Not the One in 10 Days," a follow-up book to "How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days," which the duo turned into a hit for Paramount last year. CFP also recently optioned rights to "Confessions of a Master Jewel Thief," the memoir of the infamous American jewelry thief Bill Mason.

Pam Abdy is overseeing "Fashionistas" for the studio. Lohan, Berg and Zimmerman are repped by Endeavor.
