Rupert Wainwright is fast becoming a staple at MGM. The "Stigmata" director has signed on to direct the werewolf fllm "Blood and Chocolate." He also is attached to direct the studio's big-screen adaptation of "The Outer Limits." Meanwhile, Lakeshore has come on board to co-finance and co-produce "Blood," which is based on the book by Annette Curtis Klause and set in a secret society of werewolves living in modern-day society. The story revolves around the romance between a female werewolf and a human. Lakeshore's Tom Rosenberg and Gary Lucchesi will produce alongside Daniel Bobker ("The Brothers Grimm"). Ehren Kruger ("The Ring"), who wrote the script for "Blood," will serve as an executive producer. Elizabeth Ingold and Stephanie Palmer are overseeing for the studio. Wainwright has been directing pilots, music videos and commercials and was in talks with a variety of studios on a number of feature projects following his strong performance with "Stigmata," which opened at $18.1 million. His other directing credits include "The Sadness of Sex" and "Blank Check." Wainwright is repped by UTA.
