Comedian and Emmy-winning writer-producer Louis C.K. has inked a development deal with HBO.

Under the pact, C.K. will develop a half-hour show and will headline a comedy special for the premium cable channel.

He will executive produce the half-hour project with his manager, Dave Becky.

C.K.'s relationship with HBO dates to 1995, when he was featured on the "HBO Young Comedians Special."

The following year, he headlined his own half-hour special for the cable channel and soon landed a job as a producer and writer on HBO's "The Chris Rock Show."

As part of the writing team on the variety show, C.K. won an Emmy in 1999.

This past development season, C.K. starred in the CBS comedy pilot "Saint Louie," based on his stand-up act, which he also co-wrote with "The Drew Carey Show's" Bruce Helford and Bruce Rasmussen.

As a stand-up comedian, C.K. has appeared multiple times on NBC's "The Tonight Show With Jay Leno" and "Late Night With Conan O'Brien" and CBS' "Late Show With David Letterman." He also worked as a writer on "Late Night" and "Late Show."

Additionally, C.K. wrote, directed and produced the feature comedy "Pootie Tang" and served as a writer and co-executive producer on Fox's comedy series "Cedric the Entertainer Presents."

C.K. is repped by UTA and 3 Arts Entertainment.
