John Calley has signed on to produce a feature film adaptation of best-selling author Harlan Coben's mystery thriller "Deal Breaker" for Columbia Pictures. In addition, Columbia has optioned the rights to the entire series of "Myron Bolitar Mysteries" to which "Deal Breaker" belongs. The studio is viewing "Deal Breaker" as the first in a potential film franchise based on the character of Bolitar, a former basketball star-turned-hotheaded sports agent. Seth Greenland is adapting. The production executives on the project are Doug Belgrad and Rachel O'Connor. Calley, former chairman of Sony Pictures Entertainment, is producing a number of projects for the studio, including "The Da Vinci Code," "The Jane Austen Book Club," "Joan of Bark" and "The Company."
