'Death' catches up with Campbell

Liza Foreman
Tim Roth, Nick Nolte and Neve Campbell have signed to star in the indie drama "The Death of Harry Tobin."

Daniel Hainey will make his directorial debut on the project. He is working from his own script.

Peter Glatzer ("In the Weeds") will produce the film under a new deal with the commercial production company Villains, whose clients include Robert Altman, Albert Brooks and the Coen brothers.

Robin Benson and John Marshall, the principals of Villains, will serve as executive producers.

Scheduled to shoot next month in Ireland, "The Death of Harry Tobin" is set in an isolated community on an English island, where a young woman (Campbell) writes to the mainland about witnessing a murder confession when she was a girl. An investigator (Roth) comes to unearth the truth of the murder. Nolte portrays the pillar of the community.

The film will be a U.K.-Irish co-production, with all sales handled by Etchie Stroh of Moonstone Entertainment.

Roth's upcoming projects include "Dark Water," directed by Walter Salles. He also is part of the ensemble cast of "Jump Shot," which is being directed by Mark Rydell and is in production.

Nolte most recently starred in "Hotel Rwanda." His other credits include "Investigating Sex" and "The Beautiful Country."

Campbell next will be seen in the Showtime version of "Reefer Madness," which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival. She most recently was seen in "The Company," directed by Altman, and "When Will I Be Loved," directed by James Toback.

Roth is repped by IFA Talent Agency. Campbell is repped by ICM. Nolte is repped by CAA.
