Nick's 'Couture'
April 14, 2005
Nickelodeon Movies and Paramount Pictures have picked up the comedy "Camp Couture," to star Emma Roberts. Ian Southwood is writing the project, which is being produced by Nickelodeon's Julia Pistor with Kelly Cunningham. The fish-out-of-water story follows a spoiled, trendy teen (Roberts) who is forced by her parents to go to a "regular" camp filled with misfits and not the famed elite fashion camp known as Camp Couture that she would like to attend. The story is based on an original idea by Cunningham, who is Roberts' mother, and Southwood. Pistor and Damon Ross, vp development, will oversee on behalf of Nick Movies. Karen Rosenfelt will oversee on behalf of Paramount. David Sweeney is executive producing. Southwood, who just wrapped a three-year contract with Walt Disney Animation, is co-repped by Sweeney and Code Entertainment's Rick Berg and attorney Bob Wyman. Roberts stars in Nickelodeon's hit series "Unfabulous." She also is filming "Aquamarine" for Fox 2000 and is attached to star in the teen fantasy comedy "Bras and Broomsticks." In addition, she recently completed her first album for Columbia Records, which will be released in the summer as a soundtrack for "Unfabulous." Roberts is repped by Sweeney and attorney Neil Meyer.
