Kristen Stewart is heading the cast of the untitled Pang Brothers horror project being produced by Ghost House Pictures, Blue Star Pictures and Mandate Pictures. The cast also includes Dylan McDermott, Penelope Ann Miller and John Corbett.
Shooting began this week in Saskatchewan.
The story centers on a family (Stewart, McDermott and Miller) that moves into a run-down sunflower farm in North Dakota. After the farm begins to revive, the family slowly is torn apart by suspicion, mayhem and murder.
The screenplay was written by Mark Wheaton and based on a previous script by Stuart Beattie, which in turn was based on an original script by Todd Farmer.
Producing are Ghost House's Sam Raimi and Rob Tapert and Blue Star's Jason Shuman. Mandate's Joe Drake and Nathan Kahane are executive producing.
Jim Miller and J.R. Young are overseeing for Ghost House.
Columbia Pictures is handling distribution in North America, with Mandate handling international sales.
The Pang Brothers, Oxide and Danny, are making their English-language debut on the movie. They are best known for Asian horror hits "The Eye" and "The Eye 2."
Stewart, repped by Gersh and attorney Joel McKuin, recently wrapped "In the Land of Women" opposite Meg Ryan and Adam Brody as well as "Zathura." Her credits include "Panic Room" and "Catch That Kid."
McDermott is best known for starring in the TV show "The Practice." Miller's credits include "Carlito's Way" and "Along Came a Spider." Corbett starred in the TV series "Lucky," and his feature credits include "My Big Fat Greek Wedding" and "Serendipity."
