Sandra Bullock is in negotiations to star in "Premonition" for TriStar Pictures. German helmer Mennan Yapo is on board to direct.
The story centers on a housewife (Bullock) whose husband dies in a car crash and is shocked when he appears alive the next day.
Hyde Park Entertainment's Ashok Amritraj and Jon Jashni are producing. Adam Shankman, Jennifer Gibgot and Sunil Perkash also are producing.
The film marks the third effort from the new TriStar, a division of Sony Pictures Entertainment that was relaunched last year under president Valerie Van Galder as a genre label. "Running With Scissors" and "Silent Hill" are the other upcoming TriStar titles.
Recently appointed senior vp acquisitions and production Matt Brodlie will oversee the project for TriStar.
Shooting for the film is set to begin in January in Louisiana.
Bullock earned critical acclaim for her turn as a high-maintenance housewife in Paul Haggis' indie hit "Crash." Her upcoming films include Alejandro Agresti's "Il Mare," with Keanu Reeves, and Douglas McGrath's ensemble Truman Capote drama "Have You Heard?"
Yapo's credits include the German-language thriller "Lautlos" (Soundless), which he also co-wrote.
Bullock is repped by CAA and attorney Cliff Gilbert-Lurie.
