Echo Bridge Entertainment has acquired all U.S. and Canadian rights from Ckrush Entertainment to the feature film "Beer League," starring Artie Lange.
The comedy centers on an unemployed underachiever (Lange) who plays in a small-town softball league in New Jersey with his ragtag group of misfit friends. When the team is threatened with permanent expulsion from the local league, they must rally and move from last place to first. The cast also includes Ralph Macchio, Anthony De Sando, Cara Buono and Seymour Cassel.
Echo Bridge plans on a theatrical release in the spring.
"Beer League," an Identity Films production, was produced by Anthony Mastromauro and executive produced by Jim DiLorenzo, Gregory Cohen, Jeremy Dallow and Steven Angel through their Ckrush Entertainment banner. The film, which is in postproduction, was co-written by Lange and Frank Sebastiano, who makes his helming debut.
