"White Noise 2: The Light" has attracted two space stars into its orbit.
Nathan Fillion, who starred in Joss Whedon's cult sci-fi series "Firefly" and subsequent movie "Serenity," is set to star in the horror movie while Katee Sackhoff, who plays "Starbuck" in the acclaimed "Battlestar Galactica" TV series, is in negotiations to topline with him. Patrick Lussier is directing.
In the sequel to the 2005 hit, a man's family is murdered, but he is brought back from the brink of death. The man realizes he has changed and can now identify those among the living who are about to die. When he tries to save people from their fate, he discovers there is a price to paid for interfering with the natural order. Matt Venne wrote the script.
Fillion is playing the man while Sackhoff will portray a nurse who befriends him after the death of his wife.
Brightlight Pictures is producing "Noise 2," which will be distributed in the U.S. by Rogue Pictures and in Canada by TVA. Gold Circle Films is financing. Worldwide sales are being handled by Mandate Pictures/Gold Circle Films.
Fillion will next be seen starring in Universal/Gold Circle Films' upcoming horror movie "Slither." He is repped by Gersh and 3 Arts Entertainment.
In addition to "Galactica," Sackhoff, repped by Diverse Talent Group and Jamie Freed of Nine Yards Entertainment, has appeared in features "Halloween: Resurrection" and "My First Mister." She just wrapped a starring role in indie feature "The Last Sentinel."
Lussier is best known as an editor who has worked on such films as "Red Eye" and the "Scream" trilogy. He made his directorial debut on "Dracula 2000." Lussier is repped by Paradigm.
