Feb 15, 2006
Turner Broadcasting has obtained the network premiere window to "King Kong" from NBC Universal for 2008, the network said Tuesday. "Kong" is one of several movies NBC Uni secured for TBS and TNT, including "Doom," "The Ice Harvest," "Two for the Money" and "Prime." Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. " 'Kong' is one of the most popular and critically praised movies of 2005, and we are proud to add it to our stable of top-notch movies airing on TBS and TNT," Turner senior vp programming Ken Schwab said. "Obtaining this enormously popular title demonstrates Turner Broadcasting's continuing commitment to provide our audiences with top-notch movie entertainment." Jonathan Katz, senior vp program planning and acquisitions, negotiated the deal for Turner.
