Dylan McDermott has joined ABC's drama pilot "A House Divided," Kim Cattrall has been tapped to star in ABC's comedy pilot "Him and Us," and Wendie Malick has come on board another ABC comedy pilot, "A Day in the Life."

Additionally, Denise Richards has joined ABC's drama pilot "Secrets of a Small Town," Julie Warner has come on board ABC's one-hour pilot "Women in Law," Lizzy Caplan has landed a role in CBS' comedy series "The Class," John Heard has come on board ABC's drama pilot "Twenty Questions," Vanessa Ferlito has been cast in ABC's drama pilot "Drift," Annie Potts has joined Fox's comedy pilot "Julie Reno, Bounty Hunter," and Todd Stashwick has been added to NBC's comedy pilot "Community Service."

"A House Divided," from Touchstone TV, explores the conflict between a Midwest farming community and the U.S. government.

McDermott, who won a Golden Globe for his starring role on ABC's "The Practice," toplined the CBS drama pilot "3 Lbs." last development season. He is repped by CAA and manager Judy Hofflund of Hofflund/Polone.

"Him and Us," also from Touchstone TV, centers on a gay British rock star (Anthony Stewart Head) and his relationship with his longtime manager, Freddie (Cattrall).

The role of Freddie originally was written for a male but is being reworked for Cattrall.

"Having a great comic actress like Kim is so exciting," said the project's executive producer, Elton John. "I'm a huge fan of hers."

Cattrall, who won a Golden Globe for her role on HBO's "Sex and the City," most recently co-starred in the feature "Ice Princess."

"A Day in the Life," from Sony Pictures TV, chronicles a young couple's wedding day from the points of view of the various participants. Malick will play the bride's mom.

The casting is technically in second position to ABC's single-camera comedy series "Jake in Progress," which has aired only one episode this season.

Last development season, Malick starred in the pilot for WB Network's upcoming comedy series "Modern Man," also in second position, but had to depart the project after the pilot when "Jake" unexpectedly was picked up for a second season.

"Secrets of a Small Town," from Touchstone TV, is a murder mystery set in a small town.

Richards, who most recently starred in UPN's short-lived drama "Sex, Love & Secrets," is repped by the Gersh Agency.

"Women in Law," from Sony TV and 25 C Prods., is a dramedy about women working at a law firm.

The setting is familiar territory for Warner, who co-starred on CBS' drama "Family Law," also produced by Sony TV.

"The Class," from Warner Bros. TV, revolves around eight former third-grade classmates who are reunited as adults after years apart. Caplan will play one of them, a jaded, attractive and sharp-tongued photographer.

Caplan's casting in the project, co-written/exec produced by "Friends" co-creator David Crane, is in second position to her current series, WB's "Related," which is exec produced by "Friends" co-creator Marta Kauffman.

She is repped by Gersh and Blueprint Artist Management.

"Twenty Questions," from Touchstone TV, centers on a young State Department employee (Jesse Bradford) who stumbles onto a conspiracy.

Heard, who recently completed Andrew Davis' "The Guardian," is repped by Marisa Johnson at Overview Management and Arlene Forster at Forster-Delaney.

"Drift," from Touchstone TV, centers on a detective with insomnia problems.

Ferlito, who most recently co-starred on CBS' "CSI: NY," next will be seen in the feature "Gridiron Gang."

"Julie Reno," from 20th TV, centers on a single mom-turned-bounty hunter (Erin Daniels). Potts will play her mother, a former stripper.

Potts, who recurred on CBS' "Joan of Arcadia," is repped by ICM and Forward Entertainment.

"Community Service," from NBC Uni TV and Sony TV, centers on an arrogant New Yorker (Jay Mohr) who ends up doing community service in a small town.

Stashwick, who recurred on CBS' "Still Standing," is repped by APA and manager Meghan Schumacher.
