'Pressure' on pair
April 17, 2006
MTV Films and Paramount Pictures have tapped scribes Sean O'Keefe and Will Staples to adapt the Marc Ecko video game "Getting Up: Contents Under Pressure."
The story centers on a young graffiti artist who goes on the run after discovering a dirty secret about government officials in his city. There is no director yet attached.
The popular video game, which was developed by the Collective, was published by Atari in February.
Ecko also is producing alongside MTV Films' David Gale. MTV Networks' Van Toffler is executive producing.
Gregg Goldin and Jason Weiss will oversee for MTV, while Eben Davidson and Matt Jackson will shepherd for Paramount.
O'Keefe and Staples most recently adapted the comic book "Fathom" for 20th Century Fox. Their credits also include adapting "The Murder of King Tut" at Columbia Pictures for producers Roland Emmerich and Mark Gordon.
They are repped by ICM and attorney Michael Schenkman.
