The sci-fi sequel "Underworld: Evolution," from Sony Pictures Home Entertainment, topped the DVD sales chart for the week ending June 11, while the latest Harrison Ford actioner, Warner Home Video's "Firewall," took command of the rental chart for the same week.
"Underworld" outsold "Firewall" by nearly a 3-1 margin, far greater than the boxoffice disparity between the films ($62.3 million vs. $48.8 million).
Still, "Firewall" took second place on VideoScan's First Alert chart, with three other newcomers rounding out the top five: Buena Vista's "Glory Road" at No. 3, New Line's "Running Scared" at No. 4 and the Walt Disney Co.'s spruced-up DVD of the animated classic "Dumbo" at No. 5.
The previous week's top seller, 20th Century Fox's "Date Movie," fell to No. 7, right behind a still-strong "High School Musical," from Buena Vista, which was No. 6 in its third week in stores.
HBO Video's "Entourage: The Complete Second Season" debuted at No. 8 its first week out, while another TV-DVD release, Paramount's "Charmed -- The Complete Fifth Season," bowed at No. 10.
"Firewall" topped Home Media Retailing's video rental chart for the week ending June 11 with estimated rental earnings of $10 million. "Underworld" finished a strong second, with rental revenue of $9.5 million, while "Glory Road" bowed at No. 3 with $8.5 million.
