'Frenemies' pitch lands at Paramount

Par swings at pitch

Tatiana Siegel
Paramount Pictures has acquired the pitch "Frenemies" from Dyanne Stempel and Jennifer Robinson for low- to mid-six figures. Caitlin Scanlon ("Coach Carter") will produce for her newly formed shingle Pounce Pictures. Described as in the vein of "The War of the Roses," the comedy chronicles what happens when two best girlfriends become archenemies.

Paramount's Alli Shearmur will oversee the project for the studio.

"Frenemies" is the third original pitch the writers have set up at the studio. The also sold "Rebound Guy" to 20th Century Fox, "The Fiance" to Walt Disney Pictures and "Hostile Makeover" to Universal Pictures.

They are repped by CAA.
