ICM buying Broder Webb agency
Agency hook-up: ICM set to buy Broder Webb

ICM has sealed a deal to acquire Broder Webb Chervin Silbermann Agency, bringing the powerhouse talent agency together with a powerful literary-focused agency with a stellar roster of writer-producer and showrunner clients.
The deal was finalized Thursday after roughly five months of under-the-radar negotiations between the two agencies. As part of the merger, Jeff Berg remains chairman and CEO of ICM, with BWCS founding partner Robert Broder becoming vice chairman. BWCS managing partner Chris Silbermann will become copresident of ICM alongside Ed Limato. Agency veteran Nancy Josephson, daughter of ICM co-founder Marvin Josephson, will leave her post as co-president of ICM.
Silbermann will also serve as co-head of worldwide television alongside BWCS partner Ted Chervin. BWCS partners Elliot Webb and Dan Donahue will become executive vps. BWCS' 27 agents will move to ICM's new Century City offices early next year.
ICM's acquisition of comes 10 months after the agency struck a deal with investor Rizvi Traverse and Merrill Lynch to establish a $100 million war chest to allow ICM to expand its operations. Top management at ICM and Broder have long had strong relationships. Robert Broder worked with Berg at ICM in the mid-1970s before founding his own agency in 1978.
