Jane Krakowski has joined the cast of NBC's upcoming comedy series "30 Rock."
The former "Ally McBeal" actress will play the star of "The Girlie Show," a network variety show that serves as the backdrop for the workplace comedy, which stars Tina Fey and Alec Baldwin.
In the original pilot, Rachel Dratch played the star of "Girlie Show." She is now set to appear in multiple episodes, playing different characters.
The "30 Rock" cast also includes Tracy Morgan, Scott Adsit and Jack McBrayer.
"30 Rock" is from Broadway Video and NBC Universal Television Studio and is executive produced by Lorne Michaels, Fey, JoAnn Alfano, Marci Klein and David Miner. It's set to debut at 8:30 p.m. Oct. 11.
Krakowski earned a Golden Globe nomination in 1999 for her portrayal of Elaine Vassal on Fox's "Ally McBeal" and shared a SAG Award for ensemble performance with the show's cast that same year.
The actress also won Tony, Drama Desk and Outer Critics awards for her portrayal of Carla in Broadway's "Nine" and won an Oliver Award while starring in "Guys and Dolls" in London's West End.
During this past pilot season, Krakowski was cast in the CBS comedy pilot "Sex, Power, Love & Politics," which was in contention for the 2006-07 season.
Her upcoming credits include voice roles in the animated films "Surf's Up" and "Open Season."
