Peacock flips fall comedies' slots

Fall lineup flip

Andrew Wallenstein
NBC's Wednesday comedies are on the move again.

The peacock is flipping the pairing of half-hour "Twenty Good Years" and "30 Rock," switching the latter to 8 p.m. and putting "Good" at 8:30 p.m. "The Biggest Loser" remains at 9 p.m.

"We have the luxury of starting Wednesdays with either of two great new comedies," said Kevin Reilly, president of NBC Entertainment. "We ultimately felt that this change creates better audience flow throughout the night, with 'Twenty Good Years' a more compatible lead-in to 'The Biggest Loser' at 9 p.m."

In addition, the premiere date for "Good" has been moved back a week, from Oct. 4 to Oct. 11, the same week "Rock" is set to launch.

This is the second shift the shows have made since NBC unveiled its fall schedule in May. "Loser" was originally scheduled to kick off the night at 8 p.m., followed by "Twenty" and "Rock" from 9-10 p.m., but those hours were flipped as part of a broad schedule shakeup Reilly revealed a week after the upfronts (HR, 5/26).

In the Wednesday 8 p.m. slot, "Rock" will face off against CBS drama "Jericho," ABC reality series "Dancing witht the Stars," Fox drama "Bones" and CW reality series "America's Next Top Model."
