Two lives to live: Ripa, Consuelos land CW comedy

CW teams with Ripa

Nellie Andreeva
CW has teamed with Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos for a comedy project loosely based on the acting couple's real-life experiences in the soap opera world.

The untitled, multicamera comedy, developed by Rippa and Consuelos and to be written by Jeff Hodes and Nastaran Dibai, has received a script commitment from the network.

Hodes and Dibai, who most recently executive produced Ripa's sitcom on ABC "Hope & Faith," will executive produce the project with Rippa and Consuelos. Warner Bros. TV is producing.

The CW comedy marks Ripa and Consuelos' first project under their newly launched production banner Milojo Entertainment.

Spouses Consuelos and Ripa are not the first acting couple to turn their real-life experiences into a comedy for CW via WBTV. "All of Us," co-created and executive produced by Will Smith and his wife Jada Pinkett Smith, moves to CW in the fall after three seasons on the WB.

Ripa, who co-hosts the syndicated talk show "Live With Regis and Kelly," and Consuelos met on ABC's daytime drama "All My Children."

Consuelos most recently recurred on "Hope & Faith" and co-starred on Lifetime's "1-800-Missing."

Hodes and Dibai's series credits also include ABC's "According to Jim" and NBC's "3rd Rock From the Sun."

Ripa, Hodes and Dibai are repped by WMA, which also represented Consuelos in the deal.
