Rapper Chris "Ludacris" Bridges has joined the cast of the Warner Bros. Pictures' Vince Vaughn comedy "Fred Claus."

David Dobkin is directing the film, which stars Vaughn as Santa's loser brother living in New York who returns home to the North Pole and almost ruins Christmas. Ludacris will play an angry elf.

Paul Giamatti, Kevin Spacey, John Michael Higgins and Elizabeth Banks also are in the cast.

Ludacris' "Release Therapy" is No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and the R&B/hip-hop charts, selling 309,000 copies in its first week of release. Its first single, "Money Maker," also tops the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Mainstream Songs and the Rhythmic/Top 40 charts.

Actingwise, Ludacris was part of the ensemble cast of "Crash" and received a SAG Award for outstanding performance by a cast in a motion picture. He appeared in "Hustle & Flow" and on TV's "Law & Order: SVU." He recently did voice work for an episode of "The Boondocks" on Cartoon Network's Adult Swim.

Ludacris is repped by WMA.
