The CW has given a put pilot commitment to a one-hour action-comedy from "Veronica Mars" writer-producer Diane Ruggiero. The project, from Warner Bros. TV, is described as "Sex and the City" meets "Batman." It centers on two very different young women and best friends who unite to fight crime after a mysterious event gives them superpowers they can use only when they are together. Ruggiero serves as an executive producer on CW's critically praised teen drama "Veronica Mars."
Her series credits also include CBS' "That's Life" and Lifetime's "Wild Card."
