MSN connected to summer flicks

MSN at the movies

Chris Marlowe
Two things are very popular right now: blockbuster movies and personalizing computers. MSN.com is bringing those two phenomena together in a campaign it calls "Summer Movie Mania." MSN product manager Christine Andrews said the idea is to provide "a one-stop shop -- everything you want about a movie in one place." It started with "Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines" on Wednesday. Next in the series is "Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl" (starting Wednesday), followed by "Bad Boys II" (July 18), "Lara Croft Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life" (July 25) and "Gigli" (Aug. 1). The mix of exclusive and other content at movies.msn.com includes chat sessions, trailers, on-location photos, reports from the red-carpet premieres and celebrity interviews. Fans also can play games and download special themed personalizations, including instant-messaging icons, emoticons and wallpapers. Unique to MSN Messengering are background screens that put the consumer's choice of artwork as their messengering screen. All of the content is free and available with or without an MSN subscription.
