Aniston makes postgrad plans for Griffin, WB

Aniston plans ahead

Chris Gardner
Jennifer Aniston has found her first post-"Friends" feature film gig. The Emmy-winning actress has signed on to star in Warner Bros. Pictures' untitled Ted Griffin project for studio-based Section 8 and Paula Weinstein.

Griffin, who penned "Ocean's Eleven," wrote the script and will make his directorial debut on the project. A tentative April start is planned. Griffin's project will find Aniston starring as a young woman who discovers that her family's darkest secret was the inspiration for the book and the movie "The Graduate" and that she may have been the biological offspring of that scandal.

Section 8 toppers Steven Soderbergh and George Clooney are producing along with Weinstein of Spring Creek Prods. Section 8 executives Jennifer Fox and Ben Cosgrove will serve as executive producers. At the studio, the project is being shepherded by executive vp production Kevin McCormick.

Aniston recently starred in back-to-back comedies for Universal Pictures: "Along Came Polly," opposite Ben Stiller, and "Bruce Almighty," opposite Jim Carrey. She's repped by CAA, Brillstein-Grey and the law firm Hansen, Jacobson, Teller & Hoberman.

Griffin is repped by WMA and attorney Stuart Rosenthal at Bloom, Hergott & Diemer. His writing credits include "Matchstick Men" and "Best Laid Plans."
