In an interesting casting twist, Annette O'Toole, who starred as Lana Lang in the 1983 feature "Superman III," is set to play Superman's mother, Martha Kent, in the upcoming series "Smallville" for the WB Network produced by Warner Bros. TV and Tollin/Robbins Prods. The role in the action-adventure drama, centered on Clark Kent's teenage years, has been recast. O'Toole received critical acclaim for her performance as Rose in the miniseries "The Kennedys of Massachusetts." The actress most recently toplined the USA Network series "The Huntress." O'Toole now is wrapping the feature "Temptation," which she is producing and starring in. She is repped by ICM and manager Barbara Gale.
