Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins
Revival!
Nicely done! Enjoyed Marcus, Kyle and Blair especially. Effects were great and it had the obligatory action sequences at no expense to the story. It's not Shakespeare but it is fun. After all the to-do about John Connor through the years, it is nice to finally see him do something. The last few minutes will make you roll your eyes but by then I had had so much fun with it that I let it go. Terminator fans, at least, should go see it.

Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins
Are we There Yet
Best SFX yet, although nothing in the Terminator series had the wow factor of the T-1000. Spoiled by years of SFX, there's few wow factors in sci-fi today, evolutions, no revolutions. This Terminator installment makes good use of the lore but goes aschew into yet another timeline it seems-- seemingly a good plot ploy when one does not want to keep to prior movie canon (see the recent ST movie, for example). Bale is satisfying as Connor and the remaining cast hold their own, but gone is that sparkle that made Cameron movies, well, Cameron movies. Why didn't someone pay Jim Cameron a king's ransom to make this anyway. It's a B+, not an A. If you like the franchise you will like this; plus, the struggle to defeat Skynet is a valiant one, but he subplots could be dismissed.
