Public Enemies
The type of movie you'd like to forget...and will.
I think I could've stood the substandard performances by Christian Bale and countless others if it had not been for the complete lack of direction in the movie and terribly written screenplay. The movie moved to slow and also somehow too fast. There was nothing to sink your teeth into or hold on to and most of the dialogue (though there was little between the what seemed like hours of rapid machine gun fire) was actually laughable. In fact when the last line of the movie was delivered the entire audience of my particular movie theatre DID laugh.

No.
The plot wasn't bad and neither was the acting. But the directing was, and so was the sound editing. This definitely was made like a "low" budget soap opera.

Slow But Good
I bet you were born in the '90s. This movie is paced like "The Godfather" for good reason. The shots are long and boring by design. The film makers are trying to get more out of the viewer... Trying to evoke thought. This film has simply the greates gun fight scene in a movie since "Heat" beautifully accented by a complete lack of music in order to punctuate the tension. This film is not for the standard moviegoer from the internet age... It's a throwback to a time when people took the time to contemplate and enjoy fine art.

A Surprising Disappointment
What was the most boring occupation in the 1930s, that most boring of decades in world history? Robbing banks...no, chasing bank robbers...no, robbing banks...well, okay, maybe it was dating crooks. Ho hum, glad that decade is over! What, it only lasted two hours and twenty-three minutes? Well, it seemed like ten years.
