Family Movie Fan
What was billed as a slapstick and lighthearted comedy turned out to be anything but. We thought a PG movie would be okay for kids 7 & 9 to see with granparents. Not so - cute and funny scenes featured in the trailers were interspersed with some offensive language, and an occasional mature scene or theme that made my wife uncomfortable in front of her parents, not to mention the kids. But this wasn't what brought my wife through the door shaking her head upon return from the movie, rather it was the ending. (Spoiler coming, but parents of young children should read on so they know what they're going to pay good money to see). What an ending - 30 minutes of protracted and drawn out euthanasia followed by a backyard burial service complete with tear jerking memorial commentary by all members of the family. "It went on and on and on" is how my wife described it. Leaving whole families depressed for the rest of the day after seeing "Marley & Me" is hardly the impression given in any of the previews that we've seen for this bummer of a movie. Bill Gibron (FilmCritic.com) sums it up best, "Instead of being heartwarming, it's soul crushing."

It would have been a wonderful movie without the sexual issues, and bad language. For us dog owners it had a good message: “Life is full of surprises. Dogs can give us extraordinary happiness, as well as grief.” The movie has a lot of issues that families face and can relate to, but for young children, it's not appropriate. Avoid taking a child under 13 to see this movie.

Marley and me is an fun-loveing family orented film and is highley reccomanded by many people with a good sence of humor.It is also emonatial, so get ready to laugh,cry,and see the world in a whole diffirent way.

I was among those who saw the film when Aniston was in the house and we all loved it. Finally a film that allows us to recognize how our lives grow and go much of the time. As usual, I love all of Aniston and Owen's films (obviously not together) and they can be proud of this one too. They are two solid actors and both darling and both bring magic to the screen. Loved it!
