Valkyrie is compelling, worth seeing
I found the movie to be very compelling. It doesn't matter that we already know this 15th attempt on Hitler's life wasn't successful  this movie is still suspenseful from the first moments to the end. It is an excellent story well told, well written, well acted, excellent soundtrack, stunning scenery. It will stay with me as most movies do not. It is a story of a nation in the grip of an untenable situation. A lot has been written about the Holocaust, but not so much about the German experience, where the compromised choices of the citizenry ended up being their own nightmare. We see in this movie how there are huge circumstances in life where a person must find the courage within themselves to act, even when the outcome is beyond risky. History repeats itself. Look at Cambodia, Rwanda, and now Zimbabwe. Valkyrie is worth seeing for the soul-searching that it leaves you with. What would you do?

Tom Cruise actually plays the lead character in the movie. The movie is of course about Hitler, but more of the team that tried to kill Hitler during the last known attempt. Tom Cruise plays the cournel who leads the crew on an unforgetable mission to bring Hitler and his men down. So basically, you would not see the man who plays Hitler on the ad's. Tom Cruise's plays the lead role in the movie...so that is why he is all over the commercials. Make sense?

My husband and I saw the film the other day and strongly recommend it. I have not left many recent movies without wishing for a return of my money, This film is well done and captivating. Historically it may raise further questions for examination, but Cruise handles the material with integrity. Well worth it

Never Boring...
We thoroughly enjoyed this film, although definitely not a "light" experience....Cruise was actually very believable in this role, and the cinematography and editing keep the suspense clipping right along. The story is well told, and you literally feel the tension mounting in the theatre during and after the assination attempt...would highly recommend seeing this valuable and thought-provoking glimpse of history...changed our views of the Germans during that time in history....not all were of one mind.

The weakest Link
I have to agree Cruise was the weakest link in an otherwise stellar English cast.The film itself was well crafted and would have been better served with a more forcefull lead actor. I have nothing against Tom Cruise in the right role. He has worked with some of Hollywood's elite and has made some fine films over the years.

Overall, I thought this movie was "not so good". I was not impressed at all with Tom's German accent... oh yeah. He didn't have one. I think it could have been better if it showed more of what happened to Hitler after the attempted assasination, replaced Tom Cruise and spent less time B.S.ing around with "phone calls". I don't think history buffs would enjoy it and there wasn't enough meat for a movie goer. If you are interested in seeing it, wait a couple of weeks. It should hit Blockbuster pretty quick after it flops at the box office.

you know this movie is about HITLER why is tom cruise all over every single ad for valkyrie? i think i only saw hitler.....once in the commercial,for a very spit second....thats it!!! do you think tom will help sell this movie better? i think you should be honest with who this movie is really about and the time of history it actually came from....

i love the fact thier actually making a movie about hitler.(since we just finished learning about him in world history)so i KNOW ALOT about him *ima history nerd :)* im curious to see if they really put any REAL LIFE STUFF THAT REALLY HAPPENED in the movie i will be able to see the movie when it comes out on DVD (im not a nazi, and although he did some pretty wrong things to the jews.....i do honestly have alot of respect for hitler. he knew what he was doing and if he didn't then he wouln't be in our history books)
