Coldplay, Jennifer Lopez Set for 'Idol' Results Shows
The May 3 episode will feature the British band; the "American Idol" judge will perform in an upcoming show.
Set your "Clocks" for next week's American Idol results show: British band Coldplay will hit the stage with two songs, presumably from their new CD, Mylo Xyloto.
Although Thursday's American Idol results show featuring Katy Perry and season 10's Stefano Langone is merely hours away, Idol producers created a buzz with an early morning tweet from the show's Twitter account: “Breaking news! @Coldplay will be performing on #idol next Thursday, May 3rd! What is your favorite Coldplay song?”
It begs the question: Will Rihanna make an appearance? The singer duets with the band on the single, "Princess of China," and will tour with the group via hologram on its world tour. Will she appear on the Idol stage in the flesh?
Additionally, rumors persist that Jennifer Lopez will emerge once more from behind the judge's table to perform her new single, "Dance Again," with dancer/boyfriend Casper Smart. According to celebuzz.com, Lopez rehearsed the number on April 21 with her backup dancers, and it is not clear if the performance will be live or taped. The judge is set to kick off her world tour this June.
So, what will Coldplay perform next week? Will Gwyneth Paltrow be in attendance with daughter Apple? Will J. Lo and Paltrow compare notes on mutual ex-boyfriend Ben Affleck backstage?
