'American Idol' Finalist Erika Van Pelt and 'X Factor's' Jillian Jensen: 'We Are in the Same Band'
Van Pelt and the "X Factor" hopeful share a musical and personal connection. Also, why is Van Pelt hanging out with Charlie Sheen?
X Factor hopeful Jillian Jensen and American Idol's season 11 finalist Erika Van Pelt have more than geography in common.
According to a tweet by Van Pelt, Jensen -- a bullying victim who endeared herself to America and judge Demi Lovato with her emotional Rhode Island audition -- is a close friend, musical soulmate and former paramour of Van Pelt's brother, Collin.
"Jill is a good friend of mine. Like my little sister," tweeted Van Pelt. "She dated my brother. And yes we play in the same band."
Jensen, who reduced Lovato to tears with her cover of Jessie J's "Who You Are" (prompting the teen judge to exclaim, "You broke my heart!"), supported Van Pelt earlier this February when the 26-year old Providence, RI singer appeared on Idol.
"Erika Van Pelt. Remember that name tonight on American idol watch her tear it up :)," she tweeted.
In other news, Van Pelt is filming an "endorsement shoot" with Charlie Sheen and Timbaland this Wednesday in Los Angeles, according to her Twitter feed. Van Pelt offered no other details on what the shoot entails.
