'American Idol': Jim Carrey's Daughter Auditions (Video)
Judge Jennifer Lopez was shocked to see Jane Carrey, whom she had met while working with Jim on “In Living Color.”
For all of Jim Carrey’s outlandish moments, it turns out his daughter is pretty normal.
The daughter of the funnyman appeared at American Idol’s San Diego auditions, which aired Sunday night. “I’m a huge ham. I always like to be onstage,” she said, showing she does have at least some things in common with her famous father.

Jane Carrey, 24, is a single mother and a "waitress, on and off” who tried out for the auditions in San Diego, which took place on an aircraft carrier, the U.S.S. Midway.
“He’s not the most extravagant celebrity, so it’s been fairly normal. Fairly,” said Carrey of her life with her father.
Judge Jennifer Lopez had an epiphany when she realized she’d met Jane before — when she and Jim Carrey were on In Living Color together in the early '90s.
“I used to work with Jim. Oh, my God! I remember you when you were little!” Lopez said. “Do you remember me? I was one of the fly girls.”

Carrey sang “Something to Talk About” by Bonnie Raitt. “I think you need to think more about performing,” Lopez said about the audition. “You close your eyes a lot, which is great to get the feeling of it, but you still have to connect with your audience.”
"Good melody. You've got to work on the volume," Steven Tyler told Carrey. Viewers will get to see more of Carrey, whom the judges voted to move on to Hollywood.
“Tell pop we say what’s up. Tell him to holler at the Dawg,” said Randy Jackson as Carrey exited the room.
After the audition, Carrey of course called her dad on speakerphone. “She’s amazing. I can’t wait for the world to understand what she has,” said her famous dad over the phone.
