There was plenty of drama on this week's "American Idol," both the kind that sent Elise Testone home and nearly sent Ryan Seacrest to the hospital. THR's music editor and season 9 alum Didi Benami break it down.

It was a big week on American Idol highlighted by a big band -- Queen -- who not only provided the theme and mentoring for the final six contestants, but also led many of the musical performances.

But while half of Thursday was spent cheering the legendary band -- along with guests Katy Perry and Stefano Langone -- the rest was all about mourning the exit of Elise Testone.

What else was on Idol fans' minds on this week of the competition? For one: Ryan Seacrest, who came thisclose to missing Wednesday's episode after suffering from a reported case of the flu, along with stellar performances by the likes of Joshua Ledet and one or two questionable ones (we're looking at you, Phillip Phillips).
