'American Idol' Tour Set List Revealed, 'Idols' Tweet Following First Show
“Lemme tell ya, if you ain’t got a ticket yet, you better get one” Season 10 winner Scotty McCreery advises.
The American Idol Summer Tour kicked off last night in Salt Lake City, Utah to enthusiastic fans and emphatic reviews. The local Salt Lake Tribune even heralded the Top 11 as the “most talented cast yet.”
There were plenty of duets and medley’s performed, as well as a few original singles from Pia Toscano (Interscope), Lauren Alaina (Mercury Nashville) and of course, Season 10 winner Scotty McCreery (Mercury Nashville). Top 40 hits covered on opening night include Lady Gaga’s “Born This Way,” Bruno Mars’ “Grenade” and Cee Lo Green’s “Forget You.” Find the complete set list below.
One common complaint from fans stemmed from the amount of time Toscano, who finished 9th in the competition, was allotted on stage. The newly signed Interscope artist appeared 10 times (bested only by Alaina’s 11), while the likes of Paul McDonald and Jacob Lusk appeared only 4 times each. McDonald was eliminated in the 8th round, while Lusk held on to 5th place.
Following the performance, McCreery tweeted, “dagum, what a night. Such a great nite! n lemme tell ya, if you aint got a ticket yet, you better get one. it’ll be well worth it, #promise!”
Alaina gushed, “Tonight was incredible !!! The tour is officially launched!”
Casey Abrams wrote, “I had some fun, and lots of fun too.”
Stefano Langone simply posted, “Oooooooo baby.”
The crew’s next stop is in Everett, Washington on July 8, followed by Portland, Oregon on July 9. The tour will make a total of 47 stops across the continental U.S. taking their final bow in Rochester, New York on Sept. 10.
