'American Idol's' Lauren Alaina Debuts Video for 'Like My Mother Does'
The song marks the first single from this season's runner-up.
American Idol runner-up Lauren Alaina debuted the music video for her first single, "Like My Mother Does," on Monday.
The video first aired on cable networks CMT and GAC, the latter of which is set to telecast a new special titled Introducing: Lauren Alaina in the fall. (Cameras have been following her since June.)
Alaina told GAC that the video, which features old pictures and video of the singer and her family, is about her mom.
"It's all projected on this beautiful Southern-style house," she said. "It's really great. It shows my life, so people will know more about me after they see it."
She believes that viewers will get to know her a bit more after seeing the clip, which was shot by Nashville video director Shaun Silva in Altadena, Calif.
As for her debut album, Alaina declined to give details on a release date, but fans can register at LaurenAlainaOfficial.com for breaking news.
Alaina was the runner-up on the most recent season of Fox’s American Idol, placing second to Scotty McCreery.
