'American Idol's' Pia Toscano, Radio Disney's Jake Whetter Guest on Friday's THR 'Idol Hangover'
Also featured, THR's special "Idol" correspondent Didi Benami's interviews with Thursday's Season 11 eliminated contestant and "American Idol's" longtime musical director Michael Orland.
This week guests on THR's Idol Hangover hosted by THR's music editor Shirley Halperin and THR.com editor Joseph Kapsch:
PIA TOSCANO, American Idol Season 10 Finalist
Last season's biggest American Idol shocker -- and arguably one of the biggest shockers in the show's history -- was when Season 10 frontrunner Pia Toscano was eliminated. The New York native Idol diva won hearts of viewers and judges Randy Jackson, Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler with power ballad renditons of Elton John's "Don't Let the Sun Go Down On Me," The Pretenders' "I'll Stand By You" and Whitney Houston's "Where Do Broken Hearts Go." Following her departure from the show, Pia was officially signed by Interscope Records and has been in the studio working on her debut album. Tune in as Pia takes a seat on the sofa to chat about her upcoming projects, what's in store next for fans and her take on Season 11's performers.
JAKE WHETTER, Radio Disney On-Air Personality and Entertainment Reporter
Jake Whetter, Radio Disney on-air personality and entertainment reporter, hosts Celebrity Take with Jake and his national weekly Radio Disney "Top 30 Countdown With Jake." The self-professed American Idol fan -- no stranger to singing competitions as the host of Radio Disney's N.B.T.:Next Big Thing -- will stop by and chat about this week's Billy Joel performances and the new crop of Season 11 American Idol contenders.
Plus, special backstage interviews by THR's "Idol" correspondent Didi Benami with this week's Season 11 contestant and longtime musical director of the show, Michael Orland.
