'American Idol' Alum Jermaine Jones Makes Court Appearance
The ousted Season 11 finalist appears before a New Jersey judge -- and reveals his future plans.
American Idol semifinalist Jermaine Jones made his first public appearance in months in front of a captive audience on Tuesday at Gloucester Township Municipal Court in New Jersey.
Dressed simply in a purple shirt and jeans, Jones was brought in on multiple charges, including contempt of court for failure to appear for previous hearings. (Jones, 25, was 90 minutes late, according to Gloucester's Patch website.)
Municipal Court Judge Nicholas Trabosh said all the charges would be handled together within the next 30 days. He did not set a date for Jones' next hearing.

Jones, a Pine Hill, N.J., resident, was ousted from the show’s 11th season in March, after show producers Nigel Lythgoe and Ken Warwick confronted the singer on camera about his past brushes with the law including several outstanding warrants for his arrest.
"There are four active warrants out on you, to be honest, Jermaine," Warwick said during the dramatic scene.
Gloucester Township police said Jones was arrested twice in 2011, and both times provided law enforcement officials with fake names. He was also arrested in 2006 on narcotics charges, in 2008 for an open container violation and the following year for again giving police the wrong name.
Despite his troubles, Jones remains upbeat. His attorney believes the charges will be resolved by the next hearing, and the “Gentle Giant” will resume his career.
Jones is scheduled to perform at Warmdaddy's in Philadelphia on Friday, June 22 and Saturday, June 23, and hinted at plans for a CD.
“There's a lot of great things going on," said Jones.
